IND vs LEI, Tour Match, Day 1 Highlights: KS Bharat top-scored with a 111-ball 70* as India reached 246/8 against Leicestershire at the Uptonsteel Cricket Ground at stumps on Day 1 of the Tour Game. The wicket-keeper batter played a fluent innings and was involved in a 50-lus stand with Virat Kohli (33). Kohli and Shardul Thakur were dismissed in quick succession by Roman Walker, who completed his five-wicket haul. Shubman Gill (21) and Rohit Sharma (25) had given India a bright start before India lost three quick wickets. Hanuma Vihari failed to make an impact and was dismissed on a score of 3. India won the toss and elected to bat against Leicestershire in their four-day Tour match at the Uptonsteel Cricket Ground. This will be the only practice game for Team India ahead of their rescheduled fifth Test against England in Edgbaston, starting July 1. Indian players will look look to hit their top form ahead of the crunch game against England. India lead the series 2-1 after the fifth Test was postponed last year due to a Covid outbreak in the Indian camp. The focus will be on skipper Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli as both look to get some playing time ahead of the Edgbaston Test. Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and Prasidh Krishna have been drafted to the Leicestershire team for this game.

Kohli pulls off his trademark extra-cover drive. He collect four runs with that, and moves into his 20s.

Kohli has looked sharp more often than not. He has defended the balls well, and has left them when he needed to. Hopefully a good knock coming from the former skipper.
